So, we didn't really *do* much in Wales. It was mostly just a drive through the countryside. We got up early and it took a ferry across the Irish Sea to the Isle of Anglesy. Then visited the town with the longest name in the world, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. The name (in Welsh) means The Church of Mary in the Hollow of the White Hazel Near the Fierce Whirlpool and the Church of Tysilio by the Red Cave. (I promise, I'm not making any of this up). I had my first fish & chips (of the trip) for lunch that day! After lunch, we visited Beaumaris Castle, which was built by Edward I. The castle was gorgeous and there were beautiful views of the sea & mountains. I could probably be happy living there. :) The chapel inside the castle was lovely too.
FUN FACT ALERT: Geologically speaking (think Pangaea), the Welsh mountains are the same as the Appalachian range.
Considering how many Scot-Irish there are in Appalachia and just visual evidence, this totally makes sense. But I found that absolutely mind-blowing, like the earth is amazing. Strike that, God the creator is amazing. :) Anyway, that's pretty much it for Wales, it was just a beautiful country we traveled through on our way from Dublin to London. But yeah, I could totally live there forever. Wales definitely was one of my favorites. :)
